INTRODUCTION:
As an artist, I take pride in my work and strive to provide the best possible experience for my clients; I'm here to help you bring your unique vision to life.
To ensure that our collaboration runs smoothly and we're both happy with the final result, I have a few terms of service that I ask my clients to abide by. These terms are designed to protect both of our interests and ensure that we have a clear understanding of what to expect throughout the commissioning process.
So please take a moment to review my terms of service before we begin. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to me.
I'm excited to work with you and create an artwork that is uniquely yours!
ACCESSIBILITY:
Your satisfaction is my end goal, and communication is the most important part of the process. As such, if you require any accommodations to make the process easier, please don’t hesitate to let me know so I can adapt my process to you.
I am hearing impaired and am not available for phone communication. I am happy to converse in person at my studio, via email, or instagram messages.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
-
My work hours are from 11-7 Wednesday through Saturday. I cannot accommodate communication outside of those hours without an additional fee.
-
By commissioning me, you agree to have read and agreed to my terms of service.
-
Price quotes are an estimate and will vary based on level of complexity, size, and materials. I always do my best to estimate the most accurate price. Please budget accordingly.
-
I reserve the right to refuse any commission, at any time, for any reason.
-
While I do my best to provide accurate deadlines, there are some cases where I may need more time than expected. I will be fully communicative to you in these cases.
-
Please be aware that I often have a waitlist for custom work. A paid deposit secures your slot in the queue.
-
I work best when given artistic freedom to create an image based on the prompt you provide. I am happy to match a scene or pose that you have in mind, please allow and expect some variations.
-
I do NOT authorize using any of my pieces as NFT.
-
I do NOT authorize using any of my pieces to feed any AI generator or for use in an AI generator in any way.
-
Keep in mind my art and thematic style when considering a commission and be sure my aesthetic marries well with your vision.

PAYMENT:
I only accept commission payments electronically via Square invoice or cash paid in person at my studio.
DEPOSITS:
Prior to starting your piece, I will collect a 20-50% deposit via emailed invoice. Deposits are non refundable. I will only start working on your commission after receiving your fully paid deposit. Failing to pay your deposit within 3 days will forfeit your slot to my next client.
RUSH FEE:
If your piece is under a tight deadline, I may be able to offer a rush fee at my discretion. Please alert me to deadlines prior to paying any deposits; if I am unable to meet a deadline that is changed or communicated after receiving your paid deposit, your deposit is non refundable.
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS:
I cannot provide refunds on any work already completed. If you need to cancel or put your commission on hold for any reason, please do so as soon as possible. I understand life happens, and if I have begun some work on your piece, I will pause work and hold on to it for up to a year should you decide to resume. However, deposits are not refundable for any reason. After a year of inactivity, your commission will be archived and you will need to be re-quoted for a new commission.
You will receive a full refund if I am unable to finish the commission.
PAYMENT PLANS:
If you require a payment plan, I am happy to facilitate your payment in installments for up to 3 months. I will not begin work until you are 50% paid off. You will not receive your finished piece until 100% of payment has been received.
TIPS:
Tips are always appreciated but never necessary. There will be an option for you to tip on your final invoice, please do not tip if it is outside of your financial ability.
PROCESSING AND DELIVERY TIME:
I will provide a general estimate of how long I believe your piece will take to complete prior to sending you a deposit invoice. As a general rule, time of completion is based on active and prompt client responses. Delays may arise if you are unable to respond in a timely manner to any communications.
If delays arise due to personal reasons of mine, you will be notified via email as soon as possible.
I am happy to ship your artwork securely via USPS with insured postage. Depending on the time of year and where you are located, USPS typically takes 3-7 business days to deliver. Please keep shipping times in mind when planning your piece. Shipping is an added fee of $5-10 depending on the size of your piece.
Alternatively, you may pick up your artwork in person at my Studio in Huntsville, Alabama. Please contact me ahead of time to ensure I am present.
I do not do meet ups or hand deliveries of artwork.
COMMISSION INFORMATION:
Following these guidelines will make the commissioning process as smooth as possible:
REFERENCE IMAGES:
-
Provide numerous useful references. Please keep in mind for things such as portraits of homes, pets, etc - I have not seen the subject and will only have your photographs to go off of.
-
If I have to search for references myself, there may be a 25% charge of the final quote included. You will be notified if I add reference fees to the final quote, so we can discuss as necessary.
-
The more details, the better! You can also provide a simple sketch of your idea - the more description you provide the easier it will be to ensure we are on the same page.
-
What you need to send me:
-
Photos of the subject from multiple angles in good lighting
-
Medium (watercolor, marker illustration, digital, etc) and style (you can view my instagram page and website for images of my work for reference)
-
Mood board / color scheme inspiration
-
Full description (i.e. who, doing what, where, etc)
-
Budget range
-
If your work is a surprise and needs to be delayed for posting to my social media
-
Anything you deem important! (“Lucky is wearing a green collar but can you make it pink?” Yes!)
-
WORKFLOW:
Once I receive your deposit and all details for the commission and an agreed upon timeline, I will start working on your piece.
-
Step 1: thumbnail sketching. I will make a general mock up of your piece either digitally or traditionally and provide an image of the sketch to you via email so you may provide feedback. This is the stage where feedback is essential; if I have to go back and make changes to the design after starting further stages, I may need to include a revision fee.
-
Step 2: refined sketch and linework: At this stage I will provide a refined sketch that will essentially be a starting point of the finished piece. Once we get to this stage revisions are subject to fees.
-
Step 3: final rendering: Finally, I will be hard at work creating your final piece! This is the most time consuming part of the process where I will be wholly focused on your artwork. I may not be able to provide progress photos, but feel free to reach out via instagram or email to inquire about advancement.
-
Step 4: completion. I will reach out to you when I have finished your piece and ask whether you would like to see a photo or be surprised when you receive it. From there you have the option to either pick up or have it shipped following payment in full. If your work is digital you will receive a digital file via email.
-
(optional) Step 5: framing. Many clients feel intimidated or overwhelmed with the framing process. I am happy to provide framing assistance for a fee based on the cost of framing materials and labor associated.
